The brand new GoPro Hero 6 Black has more processing power than its predecessor but still looks recognizable. The enhanced GP1 processor delivers higher frame rates in 4K, 2.7K and 1080p HD resolutions. Where previous models reached up to 30 fps in 4K, the Hero 6 Black gets 60 fps. Other intensive tasks, such as image stabilization, have also been improved in the Hero 6.
As with the Hero 5 Black, the robust exterior of the Hero 6 Black is resistant to the elements and waterproof up to 10 meters without an underwater housing. For those who want to dive deeper, there is an optionally available Super Suit housing. The Hero 6 Black comes with The Frame, with the GoPro standard accessory interface, along with a buckle attachment for The Frame and two self-adhesive mounts (one bent and one straight).
The back of the camera is dominated by a 2 inch LCD touchscreen for quick navigation menus. Once the settings have been set, the classic one-button interface can quickly start and stop and adjust settings. If you're not hands-free, the GoPro Hero 6 Black can also be controlled by simple voice commands to start and stop recording, taking a photo, a series of photos, and more.
