With the Sony Handycam FDR-AX100 you shoot your movies with the same 4K technology that is also used for Hollywood movies. Capture 4x as much fine detail as Full HD with easy operation with one hand. Movies are recorded in XAVC S, a format that is based on the professional 4K technology. Every detail remains razor sharp and smooth, even when zooming in or out and panning.
Responsible for this incredibly clear images are the 20 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor type 1.0, the advanced BIONZ X image processor and the ZEISS Vario-Sonnar® T* lens. Sony has proven with the FDR-AX100 its innovative strength: a smaller and lighter 4K camera with the same impressive specifications is not currently available.

More details, less noise
Razor sharp video with the large Exmor R® CMOS sensor type 1.0 to 20 MP. The light receiving area of the sensor in the FDR-AX100 is six times larger than that of CMOS sensors in the traditional Handycam. Thus, there will be less noise and your images will include vivid detail, even in low light.
Allow more light to enter
Take professional photos with the ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens, equipped with large aperture that lets in more light. Bring your subject in focus against a softly blurred background. The unique T* coating reduces glare and reflections in high-contrast images.
Manual Settings
Record movie with the versatile manual controls of the Sony Handycam FDR-AX100. Try different settings for aperture, exposure time and blur with two ND filters and use the rotary knob to set ISO, shutter speed and more. Bring your subjects closer with the manual ring; zoom in or out as you wish and adjust the focus.
