High quality focus
The EOS 7D Mark II features dual pixel AF CMOS technology for fast and smooth autofocus tracking when making video recordings or using Live View. Each pixel contains two photodiodes that can be read separately or together during autofocus when taking pictures. The speed and sensitivity of focus-tracking during the making of videos can be adjusted to allow slow focus pulls.
Recording Features Timer
An integrated interval timer makes shooting during pre-programmed periods possible - a great way to capture a slowly changing scene and to make create time-lapse videos. For very long exposures, the shutter of the EOS 7D Mark II will be locked for a fixed time in bulbmodus.
150,000-pixel metering sensor IR detection
For consistent, accurate metering the EOS 7D Mark II uses a 150,000-pixel sensor to divide the scene into 252 areas. Each area is analyzed and the correct exposure settings are automatically set or recommended by the photographer. For higher accuracy, even in difficult light conditions, both light in the visible part of the spectrum and infrared light are measured.
