A fast and intelligent autofocus that responds to movement of the camera and the subject provides an unmatched precision thanks to a focus area with 61 AF points, even at F8. Dual DIGIC 6+ processors and a new mirror drive system allow continuous high-speed shooting up to 14 fps with full AF / AE tracking. A dust-proof and moisture-proof body also offers maximum reliability and durability.

AI Servo AF III+
In order to ensure that every shot with unmatched precision, the camera features an improved 61-point AF system with 41 ‘cross-type’ AF points covering a larger area and that can also focus in a low light intensity of up to -3EV. In addition to Canon’s popular pro AF technologies - EOS iTR and AF Case settings - the EOS-1D X Mark II also features the new AI Servo AF III+ that improves the follow sensitivity in scenes where subjects might make unexpected movements like animals that move quickly through the wilderness.
Professional 4K movies
Canon’s capture expertise and experience with 4K movies is reflected in the EOS-1D X Mark II and enables filmmakers to shoot video with 4K quality (4096x2160) and a series of frame rates of up to 60 fps on the CFast 2.0™ map. The camera also allows it to capture images in Full HD (1920x1080p) with an impressive speed of 120 fps, ideal for scenes in slow motion. Decisive moments in a 60 fps 4K scene can be selected for a high resolution 8.8-megapixel photo and this offers more control and certainty in defining exactly the right moment.
Optimal recording management
Professionals have the tools they need to manage their recordings in order to easily and within a few seconds send them to news agencies and other clients. The built-in GPS adds information about the shooting location to the EXIF data so that photographers have an accurate record of their activities. Thanks to both Ethernet wired LAN and SuperSpeed USB 3.0 you can choose how the pictures are shared– via FTP or directly to computers. And the new WFT-E8 wireless file transmitter¹ supports the very fast industry standard 802.11ac (5GHz band)
EOS design
The design of the EOS-1D X Mark II reflects the typical EOS design and is equipped with an improved grip and controls that feel natural. The waterproof design makes the camera immune to the elements, making it ideal for outdoor shooting. The intelligent Viewfinder II shows approximately 100% of the field of view and shows all shooting information through an electronic overlay so that you never have to remove your eye from the viewfinder.
